One day Mystery Tour
9:00am – Arrive in Maxwell, NE
Arrive in Maxwell here you will stop at the Fort McPherson National Cemetery (Free). Established September 27, 1863, Fort McPherson provided protection for traders, settlers, and the first transcontinental railroad linking the East and West Coast. Today you will find over 6500 veterans buried there along with some Buffalo Soldiers.
10:30am – Fort Cody Enjoy Fort Cody one of the West’s largest and most unique gift shops. Cost: Free. Antiques, leather goods, jewelry and Western gifts, free Old West Museum. Special attraction: Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show in miniature ‐ a 20,000 piece, hand carved animated display.
11:30am – Feather River Vineyards
Tour Feather River Vineyards Located in the lush Loess Hills of the southern Platte Valley, Feather River Vineyard introduces wines that reflect the character andhistory of our geological heritage. The tasting room is open for sampling and to purchase wine and gifts. Tasting Cost $5 per person.
12:15pm – Lunch
Lunch at the Lakehouse Bar & Grill at beautiful Lake Maloney.
1:45pm – Cody Park
Tour Cody Park the sight of the first Wild West Show and the Cody Park Train Museum Cost: Free – The museum features the only Challenger 3900 series steam locomotive on public display, accompanied by a 6900 series diesel locomotive. These two locomotives have a combined horsepower of more than 12,000. Also on display a fully restored railroad depot, several rail cars, and caboose and railroad memorabilia.
3:00pm – Golden Spike Tower Golden Spike Tower & Visitor Center tour Cost: $6. Step out onto an eight story enclosed deck and view the world’s largest rail yard, Union Pacific Bailey Yards. North Platte’s newest attraction features an outdoor deck at seven stories, gift shop, educational displays and informational kiosks. www.goldenspiketower.com
4:30pm – Ride with the Wild Bunch
“Ride with the Wild Bunch Event” from 4:30 to 8:00pm. Cost starts at $45 per person. Arrive at the Buffalo Bill State Historical Park (Greeted by Buffalo Bill look alike and his horse). Cost: CVB will provide Park Pass. The bus will be greeted by our Buffalo Bill look‐a‐like on his white horse. The group will then tour Buffalo Bills home and Barn where he lived while he toured the country with his Wild West Show.
5:30pm – Lincoln County Historical Museum
At the Lincoln County Historical Museum, tour buildings such as, an old Fort McPherson officer headquarters, one room school house, sod home, 1899 Sears & Roebuck house and more, all in the old west prairie village. As you tour the village, town’s people (actors dressed in time period costumes) will entertain you with historically accurate accounts of North Platte’s rough and wild days of being known as little Chicago. BBQ dinner complete with a historical speaker will round out this fun evening. This event can be customized for your group.
